THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS WIN
Yandy Díaz struck out on a check swing, cemented on a ruling by first-base umpire James Hoye and it’s over! THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS HAVE A 2-0 LEAD IN THE WORLD SERIES and are heading to Tampa Bay. The Brewers gave up four runs in the first and rallied back to win 5-4, with the tying run stranded on third base the second time already in this series.
Milwaukee, you are two wins away from a title.

Two down on grounder to Brice Turang
Ben Williamson worked back into the count to make it full, but Ashby got the soft contact he needed, and the groundout has put the tying run at third base and Yandy Díaz up. Ashby can end this thing if he retires the Rays’ tough designated hitter.
10:43 pm CT October 24, 2026
Aaron Ashby strikes out Victor Mesa Jr. for the first out
A nasty slider gets Victor Mesa Jr. out on a check-swing third strike, and pitching coach Chris Hook heads to the mound as Ben Williamson steps in to pinch hit.
Runner still at second, one out. A couple big-league blocks by William Contreras behind the plate in that at-bat. Brewers need two more outs for a 2-0 series lead.
10:40 pm CT October 24, 2026
Leadoff double for Rays outfielder Jonny DeLuca
Well, it’s not going to be easy. Ashby had to deal with some very tough stuff in Los Angeles, runners at third with less than two outs, and he’s in a jam here with the leadoff batter Jonny DeLuca doubling down the first-base line.
Yandy Díaz pretty likely to bat at this point, too.
10:36 pm CT October 24, 2026
We go to the ninth with the lead just 5-4
Brice Turang hit a tailing ball to left field that Chandler Simpson ran down, so we’re done in the eighth. The Brewers will now try to hold on to a 5-4 lead in the ninth with the bottom third (Jonny DeLuca, Victor Mesa Jr. and Taylor Walls) due to bat.
Buckle up. Control of the World Series is on the line. Aaron Ashby is heading back out to pitch.

Brewers nearly had an insurance run, but replay upholds an out call at the plate
Another runner has been thrown out at the plate, this time on a contact play. The entire crowd at American Family Field thought replay showed that Jackson Chourio had avoided the tag of catcher Nick Fortes at the dish, but the call was upheld.
That’s tough because the Brewers had second and third looking for a badly needed insurance run. But this time, William Contreras grounder against a drawn-in infield was fielded cleanly by Walls, unlike in last night’s first inning. Chourio made a great slide, but he didn’t quite clearly get there.
Steven Matz is checking in. The Brewers still have runners at the corners with two outs.
10:16 pm CT October 24, 2026
Aaron Ashby gets two outs in the eighth, and three outs remain
Pinch hitter Ryan Vilade struck out on a full-count pitch and Richie Palacios grounded out to second base. The Milwaukee Brewers are three outs away from a 2-0 lead in the World Series. It’s the bottom of the order due up in the ninth against, presumably, Aaron Ashby, whose streak of 14⅔ consecutive scoreless innings is the third most by a reliever in postseason history.
Perhaps the Brewers could stand to get some insurance in the ninth, with the top of the order due up against reliever Kevin Kelly. It’s 5-4, Brewers.
10:10 pm CT October 24, 2026
Caminero is out. There are five outs left, and Aaron Ashby is checking in
Abner Uribe did his job, getting a roller to shortstop off the bat of Junior Caminero, and he’s getting a healthy round of applause from Brewers fans as Kid Rock’s “Cowboy” plays over the speakers. It’s quite loud.
Ashby enters the game with lefties Liam Hicks and Richie Palacios due up. After him, it’s Jonny DeLuca, Victor Mesa Jr. ad Taylor Walls before the top of the order if anyone reaches. Ashby has 14 consecutive scoreless innings heading into this appearance.
10:05 pm CT October 24, 2026
Now comes the hard part, getting the final six outs
Frelick gave another ball a ride but it died on the warning track, and the Brewers don’t score again in the seventh, so they take their 5-4 lead to the eighth inning, and Abner Uribe is heading back out to deal with Junior Caminero.
After that, I presume Aaron Ashby will check in to try and extend his run of 14 consecutive scoreless playoff innings and record the final five outs.
It’s the 4-5-6 hitters due up here in the eighth.
10:00 pm CT October 24, 2026
IT’S COOPER PRATT REDEMPTION WITH GO-AHEAD SINGLE
Cooper Pratt lofts a soft single down the right-field line, and the Milwaukee Brewers have battled all the way back for a 5-4 lead in this Game 2 of the World Series. They are now six outs away from a 2-0 series lead.
Pratt, whose error allowed the Rays to get on the board first in the opening inning, took a bad swing at a breaking pitch earlier int he at-bat against Kevin Kelly but then came through to drive in Turang.
9:55 pm CT October 24, 2026
Oh man, Garrett Mitchell just missed giving the Brewers the lead, but Brewers have a chance here
Brice Turang smoked a double to the gap leading off the inning against Tyler Wells, and Garrett Mitchell hit a ball very well to the warning track in center field, but Victor Mesa Jr. settled under it for the catch. This place almost went nuclear.
But, Turang moved to third, and that’s where he sits with one out as a new pitcher checks in for the Rays. It’s Kevin Kelly, pitching for the second day in a row.
Cooper Pratt is due up.
9:52 pm CT October 24, 2026
Badgers win so it’s ‘Jump Around’ at American Family Field
Derek Watt is here and just pumped up the crowd in advance of “Jump Around” playing during the seventh-inning stretch. It’s appropriate because the Wisconsin Badgers just finished off a 24-7 win over USC at Camp Randall Stadium, where the song is a third-quarter staple.
Now let’s see if the Brewers can turn a solid Wisconsin sports day into an epic.
9:50 pm CT October 24, 2026
Abner Uribe strands a man on third base in seventh
We’re still tied heading to the bottom of the seventh. Abner Uribe issued a leadoff walk to No. 9 hitter Taylor Wells, but he battled through a long AB with Yandy Díaz to register a strikeout. Brice Turang made an underrated smooth play on a tough bouncing grounder off Jonathan Aranda’s bat after Wells stole second, and Chandler Simpson grounded out to strand Wells on third base.
It’s still 4-4 with Turang, Mitchell and Pratt due up in the seventh.
9:37 pm CT October 24, 2026
Contreras grounds out and we’re still tied heading to the seventh
William Contreras hit a bounding grounder to third base that Junior Caminero converted into an out, so the game heads to the seventh inning in a 4-4 tie with Abner Uribe checking in for the Brewers. Back to the heavily leaned-upon “A” bullpen late.
Man, the reaction shots to the Frelick homer are crazy good from Brewers players.
There might be some question as to whether Jake Bauers could have scored on that lazy fly; it’s hard to tell, and the man is running on a broken toe. I’m not sure he makes it if he tries to score?
9:34 pm CT October 24, 2026
Brewers have runners at the corners with two outs in the seventh thanks to bad Rays defense
Chandler Simpson seemed to have an easy fly ball to deal with off the bat of Christian Yelich in left field, but the fastest man in baseball misjudged, and when he slid to make the catch, it somehow got dislodged from his glove. Official scorer is awarding a base hit, but that’s a massive defensive miscue.
It should have ended the inning. Instead, Jake Bauers got all the way to third base after a two-out walk, Yelich is on first, William Contreras is up and the Rays are turning to Tyler Wells to face him. Ian Seymour with a strange inning, allowing a home run to Sal Frelick, recording two strikeouts, a walk to Bauers and then the pop fly that should have been caught.
Not sure how it’s a single, but the Brewers fans don’t care. Big chance here for their playoff MVP.
9:22 pm CT October 24, 2026
SAL FRELICK HOME RUN TIES THE GAME
Sal Frelick has another playoff home run, and this one might even be bigger than the last one.
Frelick just hit a home run to CENTER FIELD and tied this game, barely over the wall near the 400-foot marker, and we are tied at 4-4. The blast off Ian Seymour came on the ninth pitch of the at-bat. Incredible.
Frelick, of course, homered to give the Brewers an extra run in Game 3 of the 2024 wild-card series and put the Brewers up late, 2-0. That one had a sad ending. Stay tuned on this one.
Savant registered that as a 408-foot blast, 104.4 miles per hour off the bat.
Frelick hit four home runs in the regular season. Just like the Rays had four runs in the first inning. And now it’s tied.
9:15 pm CT October 24, 2026
Jackson Chourio throws a runner out at the plate!
Liam Hicks was hit by a pitch to open the sixth by DL Hall and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, then tried to score on an opposite-field single by Victor Mesa Jr. with two outs. But in one of the slowest-developing plays at the plate you’ll see, Hicks looked like a dead duck all the way on a throw in from Jackson Chourio, and William Contreras fielded the ball on a couple hops and applied the tag. He’s out, and it’s a scoreless frame.
Everyone on both teams left the field, but the Rays initiated a replay that was ultimately unsuccessful. Give Chourio a Gold Glove in 2026.
The 4-3 deficit enters the bottom of the sixth for the Brewers.
9:04 pm CT October 24, 2026
Brewers get a walk but nothing else in the fifth
William Contreras, Garrett Mitchell and Cooper Pratt all flew out in the fifth, and Brice Turang’s one-out walk didn’t amount to anything. Milwaukee will still have a 4-3 deficit as the game moves to the sixth. An eternity of baseball still to go.
8:57 pm CT October 24, 2026
Cooper Pratt makes two slick plays to save a run
Cooper Pratt has giveth a run with a bad defensive play today. He’s also taketh one away.
Technically, neither of the two slow rollers in the fifth that he converted into outs were plays you’d think of flashy, but speed demon Chandler Simpson was running on one and Junior Caminero was motoring to try and deliver an RBI with two outs. But Pratt made good throws both times, and the Rays come out of the fifth inning without any runs against May.
Jonathan Aranda doubled with one out against May before he induced the soft contact from the next two batters.
It’s 4-3 as the Brewers 4-5-6 hitters come to the plate in the bottom of the fifth. Cam Booser still in.
8:48 pm CT October 24, 2026
Christian Yelich grounds out, and that’s that, with Dustin May heading in for MKE
It might have been the moment to pull Christian Yelich for Andrew Vaughn, but Pat Murphy stuck with the captain, and he grounded out to second base. It’s still a decent inning; the Brewers were trailing 4-0 and are now within 4-3, and Drew Rasmussen is no longer in the game. But it feels like that’s a moment we could wind up revisiting.
To the fifth we go. Dustin May is checking in for Milwaukee.
8:45 pm CT October 24, 2026
Drew Rasmussen is coming out of the game with the bases loaded
Jake Bauers draws a walk to load the bases with two outs, and that’s going to do it for Drew Rasmussen, who wasn’t efficient tonight and gave up solid contact to the Brewers. The seven hardest-hit balls in this game have all been hit by Brewers, and all in excess of 103 miles per hour.
Jackson Chourio previously grounded out for the second out, but Sal Frelick is on third, David Hamilton is at second, Bauers is on first, and left-hander Cam Booser is in the game to face Christian Yelich in the fourth. It’s 4-3, Rays.
8:42 pm CT October 24, 2026
Brewers score again! Rays error makes it a 4-3 game
David Hamilton came to the plate with runners at the corners and one down and sent a slow roller to first baseman Jonathan Aranda, who got a glove on the ball before it rolled through his legs, allowing Cooper Pratt to score and pull the Brewers to within 4-3. Hamilton’s speed might have played a role there; he was already giving himself the safe sign even before he got to first base (second baseman Richie Palacios was backing up and able to flip the ball to a covering Aranda, but it was late).
The run scores anyway, and it’s an RBI for Hamilton. Pratt drew a one-out walk against Rasmussen and Sal Frelick hit a well-struck single that got Pratt to third. The Brewers are making excellent contact in this game against Rasmussen.
Two on, one down, and Brewers looking to tie the game here in the fourth.
8:30 pm CT October 24, 2026
JoJo Romero handles the fourth inning pretty easily
Lefty JoJo Romero fumbled a swinging bunt from Jonny DeLuca, but the Rays outfielder was probably going to reach first base anyway. Other than that, it was a quiet fourth inning, ended with a backwards K against No. 9 hitter Taylor Walls. The Brewers have worked three relatively quiet innings after Tampa Bay’s four-run first.
It’s 4-2 as we head to the bottom of the fourth.
8:23 pm CT October 24, 2026
Brewers keep wearing down Rasmussen, but no additional runs in third (and Henderson is out)
William Contreras had a two-out single, but long at-bats by Jake Bauers and Christian Yelich ended in strikeouts, and the Brewers ultimately went quietly in the third.
Drew Rasmussen has thrown 66 pitches through three innings (43 strikes). That’s less efficient than Henderson was through three (64 pitches, 45 strikes), but Henderson is now out of the game, replaced by JoJo Romero.
He’s on the hook for four runs (three earned), four strikeouts, one walk and three hits. It’s not a great outing for him, but he did provide a pair of shutdown innings after a very rocky first.
It’s 4-2, Rays, as we head to the fourth.
8:12 pm CT October 24, 2026
It’s a 1-2-3 third inning for Henderson and the Brewers
Logan Henderson got three fly-ball outs from the 3-4-5 hitters in the Rays order (all three players reached the first time around), and the 4-2 deficit remains intact as we head to the bottom of the third. Junior Caminero hit a foul ball behind home plate that honestly might have leapfrogged over the cables but then missed them on the way down, and William Contreras caught it from there.
8:04 pm CT October 24, 2026
Brewers go 1-2-3 in second but take another chunk out of Rasmussen’s pitch count
Jackson Chourio’s 11-pitch battle with Drew Rasmussen finished with an inning-ending groundout to second base, but it doesn’t appear either starting pitcher is going to last much longer in this game, and that favors the Brewers, because Drew Rasmussen has been pretty spectacular in this postseason so far.
All told, Rasmussen has thrown 48 pitches through two innings. Henderson has thrown 51, but the Brewers are probably far more comfortable going to their bullpen behind Henderson than the Rays are to lose innings out of Rasmussen.
There’s still an eternity of baseball play here in Game 2, with the Rays owning a 4-2 lead.
7:54 pm CT October 24, 2026
Logan Henderson works around leadoff walk for scoreless second
Logan Henderson issued a leadoff walk, and it felt like his place in the game was tenuous. But he worked around it with two big strikeouts for a scoreless second.
Henderson issued the free pass to Victor Mesa Jr. (and William Contreras lost an ABS challenge while they were at it), and then Taylor Walls sacrificed him to second with one out. Henderson had to make the play on the bunt and throw to first, which was a huge bug-a-boo in the NLCS with two Henderson throwing errors, so that’s a promising development.
Then Henderson struck out Yandy Díaz for the second out, which might have bought him the rest of the inning. JoJo Romero was already warming in the Brewers bullpen and seemed ready to come in. Henderson finished it off by getting Jonathan Aranda to swing and miss for strike three.
The deficit remains 4-2 as we head to the bottom of the second. Henderson has thrown 51 pitches, but the Brewers at this point will likely be happy getting him through something like four innings.
7:44 pm CT October 24, 2026
Cooper Pratt strikes out, but Brewers cut deficit in half
The Brewers strand a runner at third as Cooper Pratt adds a strikeout to his tough first inning, which lasted 34 minutes of real time. But the Brewers turned a 4-0 deficit into a 4-2 one, just as they did in Los Angeles before rallying back for a win in Game 4 of the NLCS. The Brewers are up to their old tricks.
Now we’ll see if Logan Henderson can settle back in and keep the Rays from adding on.
7:42 pm CT October 24, 2026
Garrett Mitchell delivers again and it’s 4-2
The relentless Brewers are right back in the ballgame.
Garrett Mitchell thought he had drawn ball four and a walk two pitches earlier, but home-plate umpire Jim Wolf called him back with a strike. After a foul, Mitchell smoked the fourth single of the inning into the outfield and brought in another run for Milwaukee.
Dew Rasmussen is creeping toward 30 pitches as Cooper Pratt steps in the box with a chance to atone for his defensive miscue. Corners with two down.
7:38 pm CT October 24, 2026
Brewers bounce right back and get on the board
Some bad defense from the Rays and good fortune have the Brewers right back in the mix with three first-inning hits against Drew Rasmussen and only one out.
Jackson Chourio opened with a single, and Jake Bauers smoked his own single at 104.9 miles per hour through the right side to put runners at the corners with nobody out. Christian Yelich struck out and William Contreras sent a foul pop-up that should have been caught by Jonathan Aranda, but he lost the handle at the netting and dropped it.
With new life, Contreras hit a bounder to the middle of the infield, but Jake Bauers was running on the pitch, and that took second baseman Richie Palacious out of position. Trying to negotiate the oncoming runner, the ball made its way to center field for an RBI single.
That put runners at the corners again with one out, but then Brice Turang lined out to second. Garrett Mitchell up now, and it’s 4-1, with some good swings on Rasmussen thus far.
7:28 pm CT October 24, 2026
Brutal first inning comes to an end with 4-0 deficit
Logan Henderson threw 34 pitches, surrendered a homer and allowed four runs in the first, and now the Brewers will have to get to work against Rays ace Drew Rasmussen. It’s ugly early.
The Rays didn’t use their best relievers last night either, so they are loaded for bear, and the odds of the Brewers bouncing back are frankly pretty daunting even before they send a batter to the plate. But … they did just rally back from a 4-0 deficit against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Henderson did strike out two batters among the seven he faced in the opening frame.
7:23 pm CT October 24, 2026
It’s now 4-0 on a Liam Hicks home run
The Brewers now have matched their biggest deficit of the postseason, and they’ve done it while recording just one out. Liam Hicks just hit a two-run homer to make it 4-0.
We saw the Brewers battle back from a 4-0 deficit in Los Angeles, and there’s even more baseball to play tonight than there was in that game. But against Drew Rasmussen? This looks like a pretty tall order for the Brewers.
Logan Henderson can’t get the Rays to swing and miss enough, and bad defense has contributed to what has become an unraveling first inning.
7:21 pm CT October 24, 2026
It’s now 2-0 on a Junior Caminero single
Rays slugger Junior Caminero does what the Rays did all day yesterday and are doing again today: Fouling off a ton of pitches to create long at-bats. This one hands with a laser down the third-base line that scores another run as Chandler Simpson (who stole second) easily scores. It’s 2-0.
The ball hit the side wall and held Caminero to a single, but there’s still only one out and Henderson has already thrown 24 pitches.
7:16 pm CT October 24, 2026
Chandler Simpson RBI single gives Rays early lead
Game 1 of the World Series was a rare instance in which the Brewers haven’t been trailing at some point, but they’re back in that familiar position here in Game 2. They’re down, 1-0.
Chandler Simpson singled to the opposite field with one down, allowing Diaz to score. It’s an unearned run thanks to the defensive miscue by Cooper Pratt.
All three runs allowed by the Brewers in this series have been courtesy of some questionable defense.
7:13 pm CT October 24, 2026
Bad defense strikes again and Rays are immediately cooking
Well, that’s not ideal. Yandy Díaz is on second base with nobody out after Cooper Pratt fielded a slow grounder and threw low, skipping past Jake Bauers and into the camera well for an E6.
The shortstop has made way too many defensive miscues this postseason. The Brewers have overcome a ton of defensive misplays, including last night, but that’s not going to hold forever. Is it time for Joey Ortiz at shortstop? Pratt has been pretty comfortable in the box this series, but the miscues are accumulating.
7:10 pm CT October 24, 2026

Wild merchandise numbers for Brewers from Game 1
The long lines in the stadium aren’t for food at the World Series, it’s for merchandise. Every location around the stadium has a stream of fans rolling out trying to get their hands on World Series gear.
According to MLB:
- In-venue merchandise sales for the Milwaukee Brewers set an all-time, single-day franchise record in Game 1.
- Combined in-venue retail and online merchandise sales for World Series Game 1 climbed + 20% over last year.
And more info based on sales across the Fanatics network of sites, including MLB’s online shop:
- More Brewers merchandise was sold in the first 48 hours after clinching the National League Pennant than any other pennant winner on record in the same post-clinch period – NL or AL.
- Sales for Brewers merchandise in those first 48 hours outsold the previous benchmark (2022 Phillies) by roughly 5%.
- 48-hour sales also outpaced the historic 2016 NLCS Champion Chicago Cubs by over 14%, the 2024 Dodgers by nearly 60% and last year’s Dodgers by over 100%.
- Brewers fans have purchased more men’s and women’s NL Champion Locker Room T-shirts than fans of any previous league champion, setting a new all-time record.

How past Game 2s have gone for Milwaukee teams in World Series history
1982: Cardinals 5, Brewers 4 (series tied, 1-1)
Controversy surrounded this one when Pete Ladd walked Lonnie Smith on a full-count pitch that probably should have been strike three, but home-plate umpire Bill Haller went with a ball. It loomed huge when a rattled Ladd then walked Steve Braun on four pitches one batter later, forcing in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning. The Cardinals didn’t score again that frame, and they wound up winning by that margin, with Paul Molitor’s bunt single to start the ninth going for naught after he was caught stealing in the final inning.
Charlie Moore had an RBI double, Ted Simmons homered for a second straight game (haunting his former team), and Milwaukee had a 3-0 lead before Don Sutton gave up two in the third with two outs. Cecil Cooper briefly replenished the lead to 4-2 with a single in the fifth, but former Brewers catcher Darrell Porter hit a two-run double int he sixth to tie the game.
Porter went on to become World Series MVP in the 4-3 series win for the Cardinals.

1958: Braves 13, Yankees 5 (Braves lead series, 2-0)
It sure looked like Milwaukee was on the path to repeat as World Series champs, with Lew Burdette once again leading the way. After his three wins in the 1957 World Series, he now had a fourth straight, though it sure helped that Milwaukee scored seven runs in the first. Burdette helped with that, too.

Some pregame statistical nuggets
- Aaron Ashby has gone 14 scoreless innings and has the fourth longest playoff scoreless innings streak from a reliever. He’s close to Goose Gossage, who threw 14⅓ without allowing any earned runs in 1981. Beyond that, you have Andy Hawkins (15⅔ innings for San Diego in 1984 before he left the game and an inherited runner scored). And then, the gold standard of relief-pitching performances in the playoffs, Andrew Miller, who threw 16 scoreless innings for Cleveland in 2016 before allowing a home run (to Chicago’s Dexter Fowler?) in Game 4 of the World Series.
- Pat Murphy is now up to 14 postseason managerial wins for the Brewers. All other Brewers managers have 21 combined.
- The Brewers have never lost a Logan Henderson start at American Family Field. In his career. It’s 12-0 including the playoffs.
- Brewers relievers have a 1.41 ERA, seven saves, a 7-1 record and a 0.90 WHIP thus far in the postseason.
- Jackson Chourio is now up to 19 postseason RBIs in his career, three more than Ryan Braun for most in Brewers history. His six homers are also best, though William Contreras is next with five.
- Game 1 was the first time we hadn’t seen a home run in Game 1 of a World Series since 2000. Think we’ll get a Game 2 with no homers tonight? I don’t!

How you know these games are different

Some indications that these World Series games are a little bit different around American Family Field:
- Spotlights on the roof! We haven’t seen those deployed before, and they really added to the between-inning moments last night.
- Truly, the volume of media is wild. The area behind the playing surface is just covered with people before these games. There are auxiliary work areas next to the pressbox and all over the service level of the stadium. Welcome to Milwaukee, guys!
- The volume on the stadium sound system has definitely been cranked up.
- With gates opening three hours before first pitch, a much heavier fan presence in the stands during batting practice.
- Other than that and a protracted pregame ceremony yesterday, it really did feel like a normal baseball game (with perhaps extra time in between innings for commercial breaks, though we’ve seen that throughout the playoffs).

Clips from ‘Just a Bit Outside’ airing on video board
I loved the documentary about the 1982 Brewers, “Just a Bit Outside,” which had a brief theatrical run in Milwaukee a few years ago and beautifully told the story of that team and what it meant to Milwaukee. I wonder what happens now to the way the 1982 team is celebrated in this town given that there’s been another team to make the World Series.
Clips are showing on the video board now; I watched it on Tubi a couple days ago myself, if you’re looking to catch it.

Here’s what Freddy Peralta said before Game 2
A former Brewers pitcher in Drew Rasmussen will work Game 2 for the Rays, and then a player who spent the past eight seasons with the Brewers will take the mound for the Rays in Game 3. That’s Freddy Peralta, of course.
Peralta met with media members before Game 2, and here is what he said:
Freddy, when you came over, you told us a couple different times that you thought this team was good enough to get to the World Series and everybody should kind of focus on that, which you obviously have. Did you also think you’d be facing your former Brewers team in this situation, or can you kind of describe what that’s going to be like?
As we know, I think they are here like us in the World Series because they play great baseball during the whole regular season and also during the playoffs. I think that we both deserve to be here.
Obviously they make it before us, and I was really happy for them because I know how much effort they have put through the years to be part of this.
I’m very grateful to be here, like I saw you guys before when I got here to the team. It’s an unbelievable situation and position for me to be here, and I’m very grateful to be here.
Is it weird, like what are the odds?
It is a little weird. I’ve been trying to focus on what I have to focus because even when I came out yesterday for practice, all the people, all the fans here showing me some love, screaming my name. Also, when I went to the bullpen last night, they were telling me, We still love you.

Rays lineup vs Brewers in Game 2
The Rays made a minor tweak from their Game 1 lineup for the battle with Logan Henderson, with Richie Palacios playing second base and batting sixth.
Here’s the Rays’ starting lineup:
- Yandy Díaz, designated hitter
- Jonathan Aranda, first base
- Chandler Simpson, left field
- Junior Caminero, third base
- Liam Hicks, catcher
- Richie Palacios, second base
- Jonny DeLuca, center field
- Victor Mesa Jr., right field
- Taylor Walls, shortstop
Drew Rasmussen, right-handed pitcher

Brewers lineup vs Rays in Game 2
The Brewers will use the same lineup in Game 2 that carried them to a Game 1 win, including Jake Bauers batting second, Christian Yelich batting third, Sal Frelick in right field and David Hamilton at third base.
The Brewers face a tough test in starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen, a former Brewers pitcher who has been the team’s ace this season.
Here’s the Brewers’ starting lineup for Game 2:
- Jackson Chourio, left field
- Jake Bauers, first base
- Christian Yelich, designated hitter
- William Contreras, catcher
- Brice Turang, second base
- Garrett Mitchell, center field
- Cooper Pratt, shortstop
- Sal Frelick, right field
- David Hamilton, third base
Logan Henderson, right-handed pitcher
